GOSHAWK SIDE STEERING TUBE. Y4265 We send herewith N.sch. 1308 shewing a modified rear end for the side steering tube which Mr. Royce wishes tried as soon as possible. It can be shewn by geometry that all the movements of the side steering tube due to the motion of the front axle tend to lengthen it, and Mr. Royce wishes to take advantage of this fact to provide a side steering tube which is practically rigid in compression but very flexible in extension. It will be noticed that the design of the pads is altered so that they do not need keying in position, also the ball end is increased in diameter.
