- 10 - CRANKSHAFT AND PISTONS. Here again the difference in weight of 23 lbs. is certainly due to a larger crankshaft, which is both longer and of more robust construction in the case of the Vauxhall, and an increase in weight of practically 3 lbs. in the connecting rods and pistons. VAUXHALL MORRIS The crankshaft weights being 33 lbs 4 ozs 21 lbs " flywheel " 26 " 16 " 8 ozs The only other section which may be questioned is the manifolds and carburetters, etc.. This difference is due to Vauxhall having a water pump, this accounting for 7 lbs. and the difference in weight of the manifolds, this being 5 lbs, the latter being due to the Vauxhall having an exhaust heated hot spot. | ||
