Copy. S/W. Mor. from C. C2/D25.8.33. Dear Mr. Wormald, Re Bentley Appearance. Further to my letter of yesterday and our conversation on the telephone this morning, it is interesting to note the copy of the attached letter received this morning from Jack Barclay, quite uninspired of course. I attach copy of my reply, where you will see I have dealt with the other points he has raised, with the exception of the appearance. I am not quite clear as to what he means by raising the bonnet hinge to the level of the waistline of the body, as I understood that one of the reasons why the radiator does not follow the lines of the old Bentley more closely was because of our desire to raise the line of the hinge. I am pleased to hear from you this morning that my memo has not been the shock it might have been, and that you quite sympathise with the point of view. If you will let me know when you are ready to have your meeting with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} I will arrange for Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} to attend. Yours sincerely, (Sgd) Wm. Cowen. attd 2. | ||
