V1031 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/KW. 17th April, 1934. (Dictated 16.4.34). Geoffrey Summers, Esq., Messrs. John Summers & Sons, Ltd., Hawarden Bridge Steel Works, Shotton, Chester. Dear Geoffrey, Thank you for your letter of the 9th April. I had not forgotten Barnes, and as a matter of fact was sorry I went away without doing anything about him. I don't know now that we can find him employment, but I can at least find out what he can do. As you will realise, we do not use much unskilled labour in our Department. I did not try to sell Bentleys in America, which was fortunate as their attitude seems to be how many cubic feet of automobile you get per dollar expended! I understand Dick will be at the Works to-morrow, and I am looking forward to seeing him. Kind regards to Mrs. Summers. Yours sincerely, | ||
