1379. To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} re Montlhery Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}10/E21239 Referring to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/R18.2.39 the Lagonda advertisement only appeared once in the Autocar and Motor and it was doubtless stopped because their attention was drawn to the fact that they had contravened the regulations. We learn from the SMMT that this breach on their part has still to come up before the Bondholders' Committee. There have been some complications because Mr.Ebblewhite, who timed it for them, is the official time-keeper for the RAC although he was not doing so on their behalf on this occasion. We are pursuing the question of getting our performance officially recognised and, when this has been achieved, we shall advertise what we have done. Publicity is still coming in well in regard to what the Bentley has recently achieved. I will discuss with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} when at Derby the question of whether the Montlhery 24 hour run is still considered to be worth while. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
