M237. To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}15/KT.11.12.33. SLIPPER WHEEL TYPE PROPELLER SHAFT DAMPER. We are having trouble with the spring damped clutch centre on production. It is too sensitive to setting and costs too much to get at if it goes wrong. We therefore want to try the slipper wheel type damper such as we fitted to the Peregrine. On examining a chassis we think this can be got on to the Bentley without a great deal of difficulty, and we should be glad if you would set it out to see what modifications are required.
