1029, 1306, 1292 To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FWK. c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Clm.{D. D. Clapham} c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems} The following work should be tackled in the next week or so:- B.V. Suspension - Kennington. Petrol tank support. 2" shackle scheme. This is to be tested on bump rig and to be fitted to 9.B.V, or 2.B.50 when opportunity occurs. Threaded Shackles. We had a seizure on the bump rig although they run O.K. in France. The oil feed is very poor. An extra groove is to be tried to increase flow along threaded pin. Front Roll Rod Rubbers. These ran 15,000 miles on 8.B.V. but then failed. It appears possible to get a better working angle for the links as the same rubbers are O.K. on wraith 11. The B.V. rubbers are now running on the bump. Interleaving. Toughened type being fitted to all springs and run on bump. We think a light and cheap canvas cover for the springs might help by keeping mud out, and Kennington is seeing what can be done. Springs. Firth springs being run on 8.B.V. now and are on order for bump tests. Chassis Frame. A new B.V. frame is urgently wanted, as the present one is breaking up. When it arrives it wants marking off quickly. | ||
