RE: PHANTOM MAGNETO HIGH TENSION WIRES.

With reference to the attached memo E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}2/HP. 18.5.34. we have looked up our records and find that the heat shield was left off production when we introduced the scheme as per LeC.3849 on which the ignition leads to the sparking plugs were re-arranged and the aluminium ignition wire tube with ebonite moulding was replaced with an aluminium tube without covering. Later on, however, the tube was made of mild steel, also without ebonite covering.

If a heat shield is now considered advisable no doubt you will take the matter up with E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
