Mileage Department (Area "B"),

LONDON, S.W.9.

Dear Rothes,

Thank you for your letter of the 21st March.

I apologise for not having answered your letter before, but I did not get back until the day before Easter, and did not open my mail until after the Holidays.

My trip in America was at least full of action, and if it had not been for the Bentley would have been quite restful.

I gather that the U.S. Cord Tyres are the best all round product in America, and show up particularly well on the Cadillac 16, which is a 100 M.P.H. car weighing over 6,500 lbs., so that it might be worth while for your Company to investigate their merits. We shall have these tyres on a Cadillac which we are expecting to arrive about the end of this month.

I expect to be at the Works more or less continuously for the next few weeks, and shall be glad to see you any time if you will give me a bit of warning.
