LAUNCHING GEAR - Cable Drum Guard.

We attach to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH's copy the original of :-

PL.738 Guard for cable drum.

The above scheme shows a guard for the cable drum, made in sheet metal and attached to the drum bearing housing by wing nuts, in order that it can easily be removed when necessary.

We also show a method of attaching the cable end to the side of the drum to start winding. This guard is suitable for both the 10.000 and 12.000 dia. drums.

This scheme should not be detailed at present.
