Back axle gear ratios and the potential for two different vehicle models.

realise that we must always be experimenting and if it is advisable that the ratio of the back axle be changed from 3 to 1 to nearer 4 to 1. I think it would be hopeless to try and get such an axle reasonably quiet with bevel gears, and there is no doubt that such a ratio would be exceedingly useful for big, heavy bodies which no one thinks of driving at more than 40 miles per hour.
In conclusion, therefore, it looks as though two models would be perfection, - one with bevel gears and wire wheels and higher speed gearing, fitted with bevels, and a second model having a long, heavy chassis, geared for low speed to carry extra heavy bodies.
