To: Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From G.W.H. <5840. Hôtel de France, Châteauroux. 26/2/30. We have this afternoon started our mileage. The morning was occupied in overhauling the car and repairing the exhaust pipe. The welding at the flange of the exhaust pipe where attached to the manifold has broken away, shearing two of the rivets. This has been rewelded. The cause is the usual distortion of the downtake pipe. We found no other serious defects. The car will now run its usual 500 miles per day. The total mileage will be sent on in our report to-morrow.
