CERTIFICATE NO. EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} COPY 24.2.27. JC.75. CERTIFICATE OF INSPECTION BY A.I.D. ROLLS-ROYCE ENGINES AND SPARES RE TESTS ON SX BATTERY (159) This battery has now completed 8231 miles on the road. On bench tests the results were good, the high rate being much improved. On low rate discharge through a constant external resistance of 1.80 ohm, 69.7 ampere-hours were obtained, and all cells shewed positive weakness on the cadmium test. After a full charge a high rate discharge was taken through a constant external resistance of .100 ohm. Initial amperes = 107.0 Time to 104 amperes = 6.7 mins. " " 100 " = 11.5 " " " 90 " = 15.2 " " " 80 " = 16.2 " All cells shewed negative weakness. Both the P & R and Exide cells discharged equally. EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} /G.Johnson. I certify that the engine or parts enumerated above have been subjected to A.I.D. inspection and are considered satisfactory in accordance with the standard required for service in Royal Air Force.
