Re Prices Oil...Phantom III.
------

You will remember a few weeks ago there was a recommendation that we should tell everybody not to use Prices Oil on the Phantom III because of sludge in the filter.

We, as you know, were very unhappy about this because we have been using and recommending Prices Oil now for some 25 years or more.

We arranged for a test to be made on two of our Phantom III Trials cars. Both cars were drained out; one was filled up with Castrol XL 866 and the other with Prices Motorine 'C'.
The former has done 887 miles and the latter 960.
The filters were then removed.

So far as can be seen by looking at them, the one using Castrol oil is by far the dirtier of the two.

We are having them packed in a box and sent up for you to see. We have been careful not to put any wrapping round the actual gauzes so as not to destroy the evidence.

On the face of this test, which has been very fairly made, there certainly seems to be no foundation for condemning Prices oil.

C.
