87960. PN.{Mr Northey}1/WT10.8.31. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}.. from PN.{Mr Northey} 19-EX. I sent this car back to you on Saturday last, driven by Garner. During the few hundred miles which I ran this car, the engine and transmission behaved quite well, and I did NOT get the impression of there being unreasonable sounds in respect of knocks or piston slaps when starting up from cold. One afternoon the self-starter switch on the instrument-board failed to function, and I had to use the starting-handle, which I found later on prevented the radiator-shutters being closed. I did not explore the cause of the switch failing, but found on the following morning that it functioned perfectly well once more. It would be interesting to know what may have caused this temporary hold-up of the starter-switch. P.N. PN.{Mr Northey} Exd U 8/3 | ||
