Description: PANEL MILLING OF CONNECTING ROD.
Purpose: Ease of production manufacture.
Brief Report and Remarks:
Modified panel milling for ease of manufacture similar to that used on Wraith III rods and run 15,000 miles test in France in 26.G.VI.
Similarly milled rods have run 40 hr. endurance test satisfactorily.

Production Position and Comments:
Simplified panel milling of connecting rod may be introduced without scrap at approx. 90th chassis in 'M' series, and provides a saving of 12/10d. per chassis. No tool cost is involved since milling cutters already in existance for Wraith connecting rods can be used.
