For some while now we have recommended that bodies with demountable heads, such as the Sedanca and the Coupe should have a solid attachment between the dashboard and the scuttle, in order to prevent the parallelogramming of the scuttle. As this did not appear to effect an one hundred per cent cure, we tried on our experimental Sedanca 37-EX. a solid mounting for the body on the first two body brackets each side behind the dashboard. It is reported that this effected an improvement in the scuttle steadiness without having any effect in increasing tyre noise. We suggest that you may wish to try this on one of your cars before making a general recommendation to coachbuilders. When you are agreed, we presume you will wish us to re-write the chapter on such bodies in our book of Recommendations to Coachbuilders.
