X. 8830 To C. from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to R.{Sir Henry Royce} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} 666 S E C R E T. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M1.11.24. EAC.11. BODY PROGRAMME. X. 8830. This is a confirmation of the suggested programme arrived at when in Derby on Thursday last the 30th.ult. (1) One closed body will be needed in about 6 or 7 weeks times for a complete EAC.2. chassis. Works will supply an underframe in 3 weeks from this date, and Sales will find a body, (B. steering, long chassis) to mount on it. (2) The second of these bodies, namely, enclosed limousine, B. steering, long chassis, will be required to follow almost immediately, and a third closed body, a 4-door cabriolet, to follow immediately upon that. (3) Concerning the open cars for the first EAC.2., HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} proposes to use the body of 44-PK. because he has a sister car having a duplicate body mounted on a 40/50 chassis. (4) For the second open body we propose that one of the second set of sports bodies be made as this is really quite a calm design of open touring car. (5) The third open touring car, which, it will be appreciated, will not be required until probably some announcement has been made to the public, can be one of the ultra sports bodies already in hand. (6) Concerning the mock up we understand that this will be fitted up at Lillie Hall with a correct EAC.2. radiator and bonnet, and that C. will inform EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} when this is ready for inspection, so that he may have an opportunity of making any slight modifications before it is shewn to CJ., and others. (7) In order to fulfil R's requirements C. will send us blue prints of the bodies he proposes to purchase. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}, | ||
