18830 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to R.{Sir Henry Royce} CJ. c. to LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SECRET. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/ML.11.24. EAC.11. X. 8830 X. 8380 BODY SUB-FRAME. This is to confirm that EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} left with you at Derby on Friday last the 31st. ult. N.schs. 1864/5/7., shewing the details and arrangement of the underframe for EAC.11. N.sch.1864 shews a general layout of the frame relative to a 4-door enclosed limousine. We want one of these frames in about 3 weeks time to send to the coach-builders. N.sch.1865 shews details of the cross members and supports. Thinner rubbers are used for the front suspension than on our original designs for the 20 HP. These should be cut from a section of the shock insulator which we have sent you under separate cover. N.sch.1867 shews the modification to the main step irons to clear the underframe. In a day or two we shall supply you with the remaining details, namely - scuttle armature, and isolation scheme, and details of the heelboard cross members.
