OVERHEAD INLET SIDE VALVE EXHAUST ENGINE.

We are going through the Patent Specifications which you sent us which refer to the Overhead Inlet Side Valve Exhaust Head, and believe that we shall be able to state claims which definitely avoid anything previously done by Whatmough or Ricardo.

I would like to incorporate in the Patent a proviso for altering the crown of the piston to any shape desired in conjunction with the piston chamber shape already developed in order to -

(a) enable a high compression ratio to be attained without altering the other quantities of the head.

(b) control tendency of the head to detonate.
