HOLES IN THIS FLANGE ARE ELONGATED TO ALLOW ADJUSTMENT OF THE THROTTLE POSITIONS RELATIVE THE MAIN CARBURETTER. THIS SHELF IS PART OF THE THROTTLE BODY, & THE ADJUSTMENT MENTIONED ABOVE SERVES TO DETERMINE THE SPEED AT WHICH CHANGE-OVER TAKES PLACE. SECTION X.X. ROUND SECTION CHANGING TO SQUARE SECTION. PETROL DRAINS AND HOT SPOT CONNECTIONS ARE EXISTING ON OTHER EXPL. INDUCTION PIPES. INLET BRANCHES ARE CONNECTED TO MAIN PIPE BY FLANGES TO ENABLE THE SYSTEM TO BE INVERTED AND SO TRY THE EFFECT OF LARGE AND SMALL BORE PIPES AT HIGH SPEEDS AS WELL AS LOW SPEEDS.
