SALES DIRECTOR'S OFFICE.

25th June 1934.

H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} West, Esq.,
Messrs.Rolls Royce Ld,
DERBY.

Dear Mr.West,

Further in reference to your visit to our Works last week and the question of instrument service, I attach hereto for your private information an actual report from our Service Manager - Mr.Hester - which is self explanatory.

The point I would like to mention in connection with this matter is that, in the case of the six Petrol Gauge Meters returned, four of these were found to be correct on test, and I can only conclude in the circumstances that the Tank Units were faulty.

I would draw your special attention to this matter as, if my assumption is correct, in the event of new Meters being fitted it will not cure the trouble. Doubtless the reason your good folk have not returned the Petrol Gauge Attachments is on account of the fact that this procedure means that the tank is left with an open hole.

I suggest, for our mutual convenience, it is advisable to let you have a service stock of two or three....
