SECRET 4326 To Dr. from HDY.{William Hardy} HDY.{William Hardy}1/HP.6.2.35. c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Dav RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} SpectreCodename for Phantom III Gearbox. Will you kindly modify the attachment of the gearbox stay as we show on N. Sch.4353 herewith. This is now similar to the Wraith and has the advantage improved accessibility of the clutch coupling when the stay is removed. No lateral flexibility is provided at the joints but if this is found to be necessary it is an easy matter to modify the washers so that the stay is not gripped. It may not be necessary to have the stay at all. Tests should be made to decide this question. HDY.{William Hardy} N.Sch.4353 herewith. | ||
