BATTERIES ON "PHANTOM II" CHASSIS.

You will see from the attached note FBS{F. Bell-Scott}2/RK25.1.30 that instances are being met in which our batteries are showing a certain amount of corrosion to the terminals and bridge-pieces. This is rather disturbing because I had hoped that precautions nowadays available in this respect would justify our taking the view that corrosion was not likely to take place.

Is it the case that other metal than lead or lead-antimony alloy is in a position to become corroded, because if this is the case surely it would be a point requiring urgent attention.

Also if FBS.{F. Bell-Scott} is right in thinking that absence of sufficient ventilation contributes to this trouble, could we not immediately give the necessary instructions to avoid this in future.
