X8/83 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EFC. c. Mr. Brock. EFCl/T17.9.27. DYNAMO RE15. EX CHASSIS 87-RC.{R. Childs} This machine has been duly inspected and my assistant reports as follows :- "Apart from there being a breakdown of the insulation of the control brush-holder, and the output of the machine being very high, this dynamo appears to be quite O.K. Carbon dust was found to be bridging the insulation on the control brush-holder. The machine was given a run on the bench, when it gave a peak of 14.4 amperes at a temperature of 80°C. It was found to have the early C angle of 120°." It is assumed that the control brush angle of this machine, as in other similar cases, will be arranged to our present standard angle, and the machine, after correction, will be put through the ordinary production test before being returned to the customer. It would have been interesting to know what the actual complaint of this machine was, as there is no evidence of the solder having melted. Dynamo herewith handed to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} EFC. | ||
