To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EFC. c. Mr. Brock. X878320 EFC4/T23.9.27. DYNAMO NO.RE.75 - EX CHASSIS 68HC. This machine is the worst case we have seen of a burn-out, to the extent of the field windings going badly to pieces; the armature also has been very badly overheated. This must be a clear case of open circuit - as [struck through]no voltage of the machine in normal running[/struck through] could not so heat the field winding. As to whether this a fault of the customer or some fault on the electrical system we cannot say. There is nothing to suggest that it is due to the negative brush on the machine having been at fault as this seems to have satisfactory clearances. We return the dynamo herewith to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} EFC. | ||
