London.W.1.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 26th.inst.

We have carried out a number of tests on your down-draught carburetters but at the moment are not doing anything further with them because our Chief Engineer, Sir Henry Royce, has expressed an objection to down-draught carburetters on the ground that there is too much danger of raw fuel draining into the induction pipe.

Should we decide to carry out any further tests on these carburetters, we should be glad to availe ourselves of your offer of assistance for which we thank you.

Yours faithfully,

For Rolls-Royce Ltd.
