Fx McF SF GF.DFC 16.6.66 Late Change in Specification There has recently been a late change in specification to a car which requires the addition of a horn muting switch for Switzerland. An effort has been made to add this additional switch without disturbing the instrument board. The result can hardly be said to be beautiful, but we would like your opinion on whether we can get away with it or not. The car Chassis Number is SBX.1209. If the answer is no I feel that Production must refuse to accept these late changes of specification, for the work involved in taking down the instrument board and re-assembling it is extremely costly and may take days to ensure that it is satisfactory again. An exercise is being undertaken to make the assembly of the instrument board in the car a reasonable job, but it is my belief that there will have to be a considerable amount of re-design before any additions can be made easily to the instrument board once the car has been built.
