X1263 To Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} (FOR DEPOT SHEET) Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}2/KW.7.11.35. Petrol Pumps. During conversation with the S.U. Co. yesterday, the matter of the return of faulty pumps by our various Depots was discussed. I was shown 12 pumps which had been returned to S.U's as faulty, 10 of which were sent without stating the nature of the failure. This naturally wastes time at the other end and consequently causes unnecessary expense. Will you therefore please issue a Depot Sheet instructing that all pumps returned to the S.U. Co. must be labelled stating the reason for return. More care should also be exercised in the way the pumps are packed up for despatch, so that the enamel does not get unduly damaged.
