INSTRUMENTS FOR BOARD: X4163 X4067
What are the present difficulties of getting instruments to fit the instrument board from the back so as to avoid disconnection by coachbuilders.
CLOCK. (Not RR.) But no importance as no connections are needed.
THERMOMETER. (Cambridge Co.) Already arranged to go in from back (?).
SPEED INDICATOR (Not RR.) Do not know if necessary, or at present satisfactory in most makes.
AMMETER. (Weston make.) Have forgotten how this is done, but it is not a difficult piece of connection, but may get in the wrong way. In view of reports of our chassis coming from USA. it is desirable that this should be English if a good one can be obtained, which I doubt.
OIL GAUGE. This ought to be very little trouble.
MIXTURE CONTROLS &) SHUTTER CONTROLS. ) Cannot see from the back at present. Cannot see that it would be any advantage, and would be very difficult to design neatly and to give a good finish.
SWITCH BOX. (RR.) This is the sinner because of the many connections, and should and will be, altered as soon as possible.
