My dear R.{Sir Henry Royce}, The fact that some part of the 20 HP chassis has cracked whilst standing still in a cold garage suggests that, as our chassis have to be used in extremes of cold as well as extremes of heat, it might be wise for us to reproduce at Derby extremes of cold and submit experimental chassis to this condition. It should not be necessary to send a car to America in the winter to ascertain its performance under conditions of extreme cold if we could have our own Arctic chamber at Derby.
