1293 Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Les.3/JH. 25th October, 1937. Messrs. Luvax Ltd., Warple Way, Acton, LONDON.W.3. For the attention of Mr.Pitt. Dear Sirs, Thank you for your shock absorber drawings and also the sample P.6. model. As we are considering the most suitable and economical shock absorber construction we should like to have an approximate price for the P.6. damper in an ordinary commerical finish for quantities of 4,000 units. Of course if we did come onto such a shock absorber we realize that the price would be considerably increased in order to supply a shock absorber to the specification that we should require. The price we require at present is purely that which you would giveto other motor car manufactures so that we can get a comparative figure for various shock absorber constructions. The telescopic shock absorbers have also arrived and we will shortly be carrying out some test on them. The external finish is inferior to the Delco telescopic type shock absorber. What do you consider the difference in cost would be between the piston and telescopic type shock absorber. I was very sorry to miss you at the Motor Show last Monday. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD | ||
