Burnt exhaust valves and holes in the valve seats on the 8.B.V. engine, speculating the cause is related to the cams.

Hoob holed bup Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/TMW. --------- BY.9/G.10.11.38. EXHAUST VALVES On 8.B.V. -------------------------- I see from Daily Report the valves were rather badly burnt, and that apparently there were holes in the valve seat (not the cylinder seating). This is new, and I am inclined to think is due to long 'toe' to the cams, as apparently valves are unaltered from Bentley 11 or rather the Wraith, and this is little changed from Bentley 11. Have you any of the valves available which shew the effects reported ? BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
