re Chrysler Crankshaft.

Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Tsnl/LG28.5.29, I have a note on this subject from PN{Mr Northey} in which he says: 'that although the intention apparently is that the design of the "SS{S. Smith}" crankshaft shall provide for altogether greater torsional rigidity than in the case of the late standard "Phantom" crankshaft, the results in this respect are disappointing. It is, I think, important to be assured that the actual SS.{S. Smith} crankshaft which will go, or is going into production will have the advantage of sufficiently reinforced webs to give the first batch of SS.{S. Smith} engines the best chance of being satisfactory. So much trouble of the periodic vibration type and torque reaction depends upon the design of the crankshaft in this respect.'

I should be glad to have your comments in regard to this from the point of view of crankshafts for the first batch of "SS{S. Smith}" production.
