Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} BY/Mr. Shelton. (Mr. Shelton is struck through) Handwritten: Files 1124 Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/AW.16/IB. 2. 2. 39. Further to your memo' Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}4/MH.{M. Huckerby} 21. 12. 38., wherein you inform us that a standardisation sheet has been issued for the Klingerit Gasket - EW.1933., which should be used in conjunction with the modified cored Cylinder Block and Head - EW.1922/3. We have obtained supplies of the necessary Gasket, but we are now informed by the Works that the standardisation of the modified cored cylinder block and head has not been issued to the Works, although we believe that they have produced Castings (handwritten) to drawing EW.1922/3. It is reported today by the Works, that the Gaskets we have obtained are unsuitable for the castings they have in the Works. This will necessitate the re-ordering of the old type Cylinder Head Joint - EW.1014. We should however, like official instructions on this matter. Roy{Sir Henry Royce} [Signature] | ||
