Messrs. Richard Klinger Ltd.,
Klingerit Works,
Sidcup,
KENT.

For the attention of Mr. Horton.

Dear Sirs,

Further to the question of gasket burning as discussed during your recent visit to us, we enclose herewith a pattern of the single cylinder test unit gasket.

We can very easily tell the merits of various types on this unit and if you have anything you think is better than the normal Klingerit "1000" C type it could be tried on this unit.

The last batch of special gaskets sent with the wire mesh centre did not perform satisfactorily and our findings are as follows:-

(1) Very bad sticking on removal.
(2) Unpleasant to handle with projecting wire shreds.
(3) Liability of preignition due to wire shreds.
(4) Very little nature in moulded material to resist blowing out.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
