B.V. and B.50. EXHAUST TAIL PIPE SUSPENSION.

Please receive herewith :-

E.CD.1151 Tail Pipe Suspension - B.3. Engine in B.V. B.V. Continental and B.50 Chassis.

This suspension has been made to suit the modifications to rear end of chassis shown on PD.335, and will be used on all future types of B.V. and B.50 chassis, whether the exhaust tail pipe passes alongside or below the petrol tank.

The designs for the respective exhaust systems are not yet completed, but the tail pipes will be arranged to use in this suspension, as, owing to the rear tubular crossmember now being carried from the underside of the chassis frame, we find it impossible to suspend the exhaust pipe from this cross member and have had to weld a support bracket on the top of the chassis frame for this purpose.

The new bracket should be made and welded to the two chassis frames, which are shortly due to leave for the coachbuilders, as it will be very difficult to fit a tail pipe support bracket after the bodies are fitted to the chassis.

Will you therefore please detail and instruct the new bracket experimentally as soon as possible.
