Bailey - Chief Engineer} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} PEREGRINE OIL TEMPERATURE. ------------------------- In spite of the high oil temperature of the Peregrine engine I think this small car is doing extremely well to cover as much as 660 miles in a day at an average speed of 45 MPH. I assume that you are trying some means of cooling the oil. It has been proposed to try the effect of ribs on the sump, even if space forbids, or a separate cooling tank, or a section of the radiator, bulging side of sump, and I suggest seeing if it is possible to get some cool air under the radiator that will blow upon the crankchamber, because if effective it would cost very little.
