x/3730 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. -> Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BJ11/H8.12.22. Re No. 7 Goshawk. Maythorne Saloon. R5/M1.12.22. I have written to R.{Sir Henry Royce} as attached concerning altered as soon as possible. It is evident that R.{Sir Henry Royce} would like this body It seems desirable, therefore, to obtain this car from the Works immediately, and have the seating accommodation, etc. altered in accordance with H&s suggestions. We want to prevent the possibility of the car again being seen by H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} in its present state, or for him to think that it is being shown to customers or in any way held as an example of the kind of seating arrangement, etc. that we advise our customers to have. Will you kindly make the necessary arrangements with Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}? Perhaps you will wish to arrange for Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} to go fully into the matter here before we give instructions as to exactly what alterations shall be made. Will you kindly let me know exactly what is the difference between the dimensions and seating accommodation, arrangement of the entrance to the front and back seats, in the cars which we are having built for the future, as compared with the Maythorne saloon at present on Goshawk-7, which we know was designed and made in a hurry? I should like to show R.{Sir Henry Royce} exactly what we are doing in this respect. B.J. [STAMP: RECEIVED DEC 1922] | ||
