For the attention of Mr. A.E. Palmer.
Phantom III P.S.C.42.

Dear Sirs,

We beg to report the following complaints from our sevice depot at Cricklewood, London, on two of the above carburettors.

(1)    Please find enclosed a collection of brass turnings that were removed from underneath the spring of the accelerator pump leather spring.

The presence of these made the leather plunger too tight in the pump cylinder and caused a flat spot on acceleration.

(2)    Last week a carburettor was found to have no holes drilled at the base of the pump, which obviously did not fuction at all.

Will you kindly take this matter in hand so that we do not get a repitition.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
