(1) Speed for half-mile (flying start) at the beginning of the test 48-04 m.p.h. (2) Speed for half-mile (flying start) at the end of the test 46.27 m.p.h. (3) Total distance travelled in 6 hours, including hill and controls (see 8 and 9)156.998 miles. (4) Average speed for whole distance including hill and controls (see 8 and 9) 26.17 m.p.h. (5) Average speed on the test hill 12.60 m.p.h. (6) The test hill was ascended 27 times, a standing start being made on each occasion (7) Average slope of hill 1 in 5.027 (8) Total distance of controls 16.770 miles (9) Speed in control, 13.95 m.p.h.
