X.3513 - BAKELITE PRODUCTS.

With reference to Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}10/NJ11.11.21, we consider that we do not sufficiently well know, up to the present, the relative merits of bakelite with a paper base as compared with fabric base bakelite, e.g. Continental Bakelite, and that for some purposes this material may be an advantage relatively. Therefore it seems doubtful if it is wise to standardise at the moment one material, viz. Continental bakelite.

Another point is that up to the present we have seen or heard of no tubes in Continental bakelite and it is possible these are only made in Bakelite micarta.
