We find that the crankshaft flange and flywheel web on P. 2. are somewhat diaphragmish, being .3 and .275" thick respectively, as indicated on the attached print by the dotted lines.

We propose to make these .450" each and thereby increase the stiffness approximately 3 times.

At the same time we understand that HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has tried the rear half of this flywheel in aluminium with no apparent benefit.
