P. 2. BALANCE WEIGHTS.

Please find herewith LeC. 3874. shewing the scheme for four balance weights for the Phantom.
We have shewn the balance weight held on with two studs as you request for a permanent modification, but to enable HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to make a preliminary trial on an existing engine a single stud scheme is also shewn to suit existing crank webs.
We think the two stud scheme will require some means of locking the studs in the crank and it looks as if these will have to be pinned as shewn in pencil unless we can find a more economical scheme which we will endeavour to do.
E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
