X2677 To WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E.4/HP.22.2.34. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} re Bentley Petrol Pumps. Referring to memo C.14/C.21.2.34 and the complaint of the external electrical connections coming loose on the Bentley pump, I am of the opinion that these were not firmly screwed up as they should have been in the first instance. There is no objection to the bakelite connectors being screwed up quite firmly under which condition the friction is so great that there should be no danger of them coming loose. We should be glad if Central Garage Limited could be asked if these terminals had been left loose or only lightly tightened. We do not propose to make any alteration until there is more evidence available of insecurity at this point. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
