TO DJ. & EY. FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL R1/M19.1.23. RE. CHASSIS INSTRUMENTS. X4163 X4067 The instruments on the board need only be fitted at the front where there are connections to make which are at all difficult, or likely to be wrongly made. For instance there is no reason in this world for the clock to be fitted from the back, also it is always more difficult to make a decent finish to the fixing if the instrument is put in from the back than if put in from the front. There are also fittings in which the advantage of putting in from the back would be very small indeed. These are the mixture and throttle controls, so that it narrows itself into our switchbox as being the chief sinner, the fitting of which should be altered as early as possible.
