Replying to Ms/RmL/LG19.3.28., we are returning the frame cross under separate cover, as requested.

You will see that we have had it to pieces, and we found that some of the screws and nuts were not very accessible, but this was explained largely by the scale.

We have intended to suggest that there could be some modification to this cross in the way of reducing the number of pieces without detracting from its effectiveness. We presume that your experiments are directed towards finding the effectiveness of the cross compared with no cross.

When you have done these we will send you a list of pieces which we think can be deleted, with a view to your testing this. We ourselves made somewhat crude tests but do not feel that we can rely upon them.
