For. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. c. Ry. c. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X6016 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/AD21.5.32. EXPTL. HALF CHARGE DYNAMO FOR 20/25 CHASSIS D.SCH.529. We now attach herewith blue prints showing the output performance of the new dynamo as compared with the present standard. It will be seen that the cutting in point has been improved but as we expected, at the expense of the performance at higher speeds. The output curve of the new dynamo drops away badly at high speeds as was the case with our old 20/25 dynamo and would give trouble owing to the fact that customers driving at high speeds during the night would not maintain their battery charge. We think we can improve this curve, however, and we are trying two further modifications, one to the poles and the other to the armature. These modifications are being urged through and we hope to give some final curves shortly so that a final decision can be made as to the suitability of this dynamo for immediate 20/25 production in place of the existing dynamo.
