2. That I did not think of the subject first! I suppose there is nothing to add that would make up into an article for MOTOR SPORT? A variation might be to deal with the technical development of the Bentley from 1931 onwards, incorporating mention of the T.T. cars. Another theme I would like to cover is the story of the development of the "R" Rolls-Royce Schneider Trophy engine. This was done very fully, obviously from Rolls-Royce records, in "The Aeroplane" in, I believe, 1935 or 6. I have lost 3. my copy and the R.A.E. library here only keeps 'Flight', so I am wondering if you can suggest any means of getting the necessary information. I could do with either article for inclusion about May or June. I had the Mk V out again, as you know three weeks ago. This time she did 91 m.p.h. and showed very much improved performance. I did 100 miles in 1hr. 57 min, strictly observing every 30 m.p.h. limit, with ice on the road for miles and several hold-ups, and 8 miles of sheet pottering in Cheltenham. I am mentioning this in the March issue, and as I soundly beat a fast 500c.c. motorcycle I hope some guarded mention may | ||
