To Sr.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swd1.5/JH.2.12.36.

B-6-BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}

In reply to your memo. Sr/VA.5/GM.24.11.36. on the above car in which you asked us for advice, we sent along the necessary instructions to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swd1.3/AP. 30.11.36. In case you have not received this memo. we are enclosing a duplicate copy.

We gave the necessary instructions for a set of .030 undersize W/M main bearings with R.R.56 shims both for the main and big ends, these will be sent on during the next day or so.

What we cannot understand is why you sent an order form on the 20.D1.36. for new bearings, and a lead bronze shim and yet four days later you ask us what to do.

This has caused considerable trouble and overlapping of instructions in that the Works have already sent parts to you and yet we are producing special parts for you to suit.

We would advise that you wait for our bearings etc. and carry out the assembly as per our memo. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swd1.3/AP.30.11.36.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/L.H.Swindall.
